Tüketici:

Östrojen kullanımı üreticileri ve aktif trombotik veya sinsi rahatsızlıkları olan hastalarda olmak üzere bazı yetkililer tarafından kabul edilir. Oral kontraseptifler östrojen içeren kullanımı ayrıca bu hastalıkların ve/veya mevcut serebrovasküler ya da koroner arter hastalığı öyküsü olan hastalarda sayılır. Çeşitli pıhtılaşma faktörleri ve kan bileşenleri hiperkoagülabilite ve değişiklikleri östrojen tedavisi gören kadınlarda gözlenmiştir. Bu etkilerin klinik önemi bilinmemekle birlikte, epidemiyolojik veriler doza bağımlı olabileceğini düşündürmektedir. Risk muhtemelen (örneğin, sigara içen, özellikle 35 yaşın üzerinde, hipertansiyon; hiperlipidemi; obezite; diyabet; 40 yaş üstü) bilinen risk faktörlerinin yokluğunda daha yeni, düşük doz oral kontraseptif kullanımı ile hafif. Ancak, çok daha önemli bir riski daha yüksek dozlarda, bu tür doğum kontrol hapları eski formüllerde kullanılan prostat ya da meme kanseri ya da bu tedavi için kullanılan olarak bildirilmiştir. Östrojen ile tedavi dikkatle etkili en düşük dozda sadece riskleri ve faydaları dikkatli bir şekilde düşündükten sonra uygulanmalıdır. Östrojen östrojen kullanımı ile ilişkili trombotik ve sinsi bozuklukları öyküsü olan hastalarda kaçınılmalıdır, meme veya prostat kanser tedavisinde kullanılması dışında olmalıdır.
