Bozulmuş glikoz tolerans bazı hastalarda oral kontraseptif uygulanan gözlenmiştir ve özellikle östrojen dozu ile ilişkili görünmektedir. Ancak, progestojenler insülin salgılanmasını artırmak ve değişen derecelerde insülin direnci üretmek, aracı bağlı. Diyabet hastalar daha yakından östrojen ve/veya progestojenler, buna göre antidiyabetik rejiminde yapılan ve ayarlamalar ile tedavi sırasında takip edilmelidir.
