İnhaler kortikosteroidlerin uzun süreli kullanımda kemik yoğunluğunda bir azalma ile ilişkili olabilir. Bu etki doz ile ilgili görünüyor-ve öncelikle>= 1 yıl (beklometazon en >= 800 mcg/gün veya eşdeğeri) yüksek dozlarda bildirilmiştir. Toplam vücut kalsiyum düşük düzeyde de düşük dozlar alan hastalarda ortaya konmuştur. Uzun inhalasyon ve nazal kortikosteroidler ile uzun vadeli tedavi dikkatli osteoporoz olan hastalarda uygulanmalıdır. Bireysel ürünlerin önerilen dozlarda aştı ve etkili en düşük dozun kullanılması önemlidir.
