Potasyum tutucu diüretikler kullanımı (> 5.5 mEq/L) serum potasyum konsantrasyonu varlığında kullanılmamalıdır. Potasyum tutucu diüretikler, kardiyak aritmiler yaşamı tehdit edici olabilir hiperkalemi neden olabilir. Serum potasyum düzeyleri dikkatli bir şekilde takip potasyum ile tedavi edilen tüm hastalarda tutucu diüretikler, özellikle tedavinin başlangıcında, doz ayarlaması sonrası, böbrek fonksiyonları değiştirebilir hastalık sırasında. Diüretik eğer hiperkalemi gelişirse, derhal geri çekilmelidir ve önlemler (örneğin, özellikle) kaliuretic idrar söktürücü hiperkalemi riski ile diüretik koruyucu 6.5 mEq/L potasyum kombine kullanımı geçtiğinde serum potasyum düşük başlanmalıdır.
