Steroid olmayan anti-inflamatuar ilaçlar (NSAID) geri dönüşümlü trombosit adezyon ve toplama engeller ve bazı hastalarda kanama zamanı uzayabilir. Aspirin dışında, önerilen dozlarda en NSAID görülen trombosit etkileri süresi genellikle hafif ve nispeten kısa ama temel hemostatik anormallikleri olan hastalarda daha belirgin olabilir. Trombositopeni nadiren de NSAID kullanımı sırasında bildirilmiştir. NSAID ile tedavi hastalarda dikkatle anlamlı aktif kanama veya kanama oluşturma, hemofili, K vitamini eksikliği, hypoprothrombinemia, trombositopeni, thrombocytopathy olduğunu, ya da şiddetli karaciğer yetmezliği ile ilişkili hemostatik ve/veya pıhtılaşma kusurları da dahil olmak üzere uygulanmalıdır. Seçici siklooksijenaz engelleyen-2 (örneğin, COX-2 inhibitörleri) NSAİ ilaçlar belirtilen dozlarda kanama zamanı trombosit fonksiyon bozukluğu ya da görünmez ve kanama riskini önemli ise tercih edilebilir.
