Kortikosteroidler yüksek dozda uzun süre veya verilen peptik ülser ve gastrointestinal (GI) kanama, genellikle olabilir. Ancak, geleneksel dozlarda bile peptik ülser geçmişi olan hastalarda belirtileri kötüleştirebilir. Ülser gecikmiş iyileşme de bildirilmiştir. Kortikosteroidler ile tedavi Kaçınılması veya dikkatle aktif veya latent peptik ülser veya GASTROİNTESTİNAL kanama için risk faktörleri olan hastalarda uygulanmalıdır. Bazı hekimler, kortikosteroidlerin yüksek dozlarda gerekli olduğunda öğün aralarında profilaktik antiasit veya H2-antagonist kullanımı tavsiye edilir.
