Topikal uygulanan steroid olmayan anti-inflamatuar ilaçlar (NSAID) sistemik olarak absorbe, nadir ama klinik olarak anlamlı Sistemik etkiler üretmek için potansiyeli vardır. Diğer NSAİ ilaçlar trombosit adezyon ve toplama engellediği gösterilmiş ve biraz sağlıklı bireylerde kanama zamanı uzayabilir. Bu etkiler temel hemostatik anormallikleri olan hastalarda daha belirgin olabilir. Trombositopeni nadiren de NSAID kullanımı sırasında bildirilmiştir. Oküler NSAID ile tedavi hastalarda dikkatle anlamlı aktif kanama veya kanama oluşturma, hemofili, K vitamini eksikliği, hypoprothrombinemia, trombositopeni, thrombocytopathy olduğunu, ya da şiddetli karaciğer yetmezliği ile ilişkili hemostatik ve/veya pıhtılaşma kusurları da dahil olmak üzere uygulanmalıdır.
