Tüketici:

Laktik asidoz, hepatit B, Hepatit B aşısı ile karaciğer büyüklüğü dahil, ağır hepatotoksisite ve karaciğer yetmezliği tek başına ya da diğer antiretroviral ajanlarla birlikte (Çünkü) bazı nükleosit ters transkripsiyon inhibitörleri kullanımı ile ilişkili olmuştur. Evde tedavinin hastalarda dikkatle alkol, hepatit veya karaciğer hastalığı geçmişi olan uygulanmalıdır. Tedavi eğer laktik asidoz veya belirgin aksiller blok klinik veya laboratuvar bulguları ortaya imalı eğer askıya alınmalı. Abakavir kullanımı güvenliği ve etkinliği bu hastalarda kanıtlanmamıştır gibi hastalarda orta ve şiddetli karaciğer yetmezliği olan bireylerde kullanılmamalıdır.
