Kortikosteroidlerin uzun süreli kullanımı posterior subkapsüler katarakt ve glokom neden olan ve/veya optik sinir hasarına yol açabilir göz içi basıncı, ikincisi yüksek olabilir. İnhalasyon ve nazal kortikosteroidler ile tedavi nadiren bu etkiler yarattı ama yine de dikkatli hastalarda katarakt, glokom veya göz içi basınç artışı öyküsü ile uygulanmalıdır. Kortikosteroidlerin yan etkileri yerel yerine sistemik İdaresi tarafından simge durumuna küçültülmüş olabilir, ancak riskler tamamen kaldırılmış değildir. Solunan ve genizden mi geliyor uygulanan ilaç özellikle yüksek dozlarda kullanıldığında dolaşımına absorbe olabilir. Bireysel ürünlerin önerilen dozlarda aştı ve etkili en düşük dozun kullanılması önemlidir.
