Tüketici:

Sempatomimetik ajanlar özellikle yüksek dozlarda ve/duyarlı hastalarda veya kullanıldığında olumsuz kardiyovasküler etkilere neden olabilir. Kalp dokusunda, bu ajanlar beta - 1 adrenerjik reseptörlerin stimülasyonu ile pozitif chronotropic ve inotropik etkilere neden olabilir. Kalp debisi, oksijen tüketimini ve kalbin iş artırılabilir. Periferik damar sistemi içinde, vazokonstriksiyon alfa-1 adrenerjik reseptörlerin uyarılması ile ortaya çıkabilir. Çarpıntı, taşikardi, aritmi, hipertansiyon, refleks bradikardi, koroner oklüzyon, serebral vaskülit, miyokard enfarktüsü, kalp durması ve ölüm bildirilmiştir. (Efedrin, ma huang, fenilpropanolamin) bu ajanlardan bazıları, özellikle efedra alkoloidler, aynı zamanda hemorajik ve iskemik inme hastaları için zemin hazırlayabilir. Sempatomimetik ajanlar ile tedavi genellikle Kaçınılması veya dikkatle hastalarda sempatomimetik Amin, hipertiroidi, ya da altta yatan kardiyovasküler ve serebrovasküler hastalıklar için duyarlılığı ile uygulanmalıdır. Bu ajanlar ciddi koroner arter hastalığı ya da şiddetli/kontrolsüz hipertansiyon olan hastalarda kullanılmamalıdır.
