Narkotik (opioid) analjezik ajanlar nöbet bozukluğu olan hastalarda nöbetleri arttırabilir ve daha yüksek dozlarda, hastaların nöbet öyküsü olmadan nöbete neden olduğu rapor edilmiş olabilir. Proconvulsant faaliyet meperidin, sorumlu olduğu düşünülmektedir aktif metabolit ile büyük olabilir. Opioid ile tedavi dikkatli olan hastalarda uygulanan ya da nöbetler yatkın olmalıdır.
